Locally owned in Bloomington-Normal since 2007.Our Story
The techniques Aches Away is built on trace back to Tracy Jones and Bodywork Massage Specialists in Bloomington-Normal. Tracy owned that practice for eight years, taught St. John’s Neuromuscular Therapy seminars nationwide, and focused on clients with acute or chronic pain. Training here began with a four-year apprenticeship under him.
When Tracy closed Bodywork to teach massage full time, Aches Away Massage Specialists opened in 2007 so loyal clients could keep their appointments and the team could grow. That same focus on thoughtful, therapeutic bodywork has carried forward. In 2017, the studio added new services – more ways to relax and support overall health alongside massage.
In May 2023, Trina Cunningham and her husband became the owners of Aches Away. Trina trained at Healthy Connections massage school in Bloomington and has been a massage therapist since 2009. Under her ownership, the studio continues to offer massage, halotherapy, and a Sunlighten infrared sauna with red light therapy at our G.E. Road location.
Our Mission
Our mission at Aches Away is simple to state but hard to accomplish. We want to help people feel better. Through massage therapy, we have worked with a wide variety of clients since 2007. They come to us with everything from chronic pain and athletic injuries to relaxation and sleep issues.
In 2017, we expanded our services to include a Sunlighten infrared sauna with red light therapy and halotherapy. These services complement massage and we hope to help even more people by offering more options to reduce pain and improve overall health. Everyone deserves to be their best self, and when Aches Away can be a part of that, we are fulfilling our mission.
